Bees
At Hives and Honeycombs, we believe in bringing the purest and most natural honey directly from our hives to your home.
Hives
Our journey starts with our carefully tended beehives, where we nurture our bees with love and respect. This ensures that the honey they produce is of the highest quality and retains all its natural goodness.
Honey
From our hives to your home - whether you're drizzling it over your morning toast, sweetening your afternoon tea, or using it as a natural remedy, you can trust that our honey is the best choice for you and your family.
At Hives & Honeycombs, we specialize in licensed and insured live honey bee extraction and relocation, with 30+ years in structural repairs throughout Augusta and the surrounding CSRA.
Every jar of honey from Hives and Honeycombs is proudly bottled with care by Brian Osment, our dedicated beekeeper, right here in Augusta, GA.
Brian's expertise and passion for beekeeping are evident in every step of the process, from hive maintenance to harvesting and bottling. By keeping our operations local, we ensure that our honey is always fresh, traceable, and of the highest quality.
Brian's hands-on approach and attention to detail mean that you can enjoy our honey with confidence, knowing it has been produced with the utmost care and integrity.
Our signature product is pure, raw, wildflower honey. Unfiltered and unpasteurized, our honey preserves all its natural enzymes, nutrients, and antioxidants. Because our bees forage on diverse regional blossoms, each jar captures a unique taste profile that shifts with the seasons across the CSRA.
We are proud to feature two distinct local harvests:
Augusta Golden Sweet: A bright, crisp, and delicately sweet honey that celebrates the classic backyard blooms of the "Garden City."
Harlem Amber Bold: A deep, robust, and richly complex honey with earthy undertones—a favorite for private chefs and artisan pairings.
Honey has been cherished for centuries not just for its delightful sweetness, but also for its myriad of health benefits.
Incorporating honey into your daily routine can offer a delicious way to boost your health, enhance your immune system, and provide natural energy.

Spring (March–May)
Swarm Season
As temperatures rise and trees such as Tulip Poplars and Red Maples begin blooming, honey bee colonies naturally divide and swarm. Homeowners commonly notice large clusters of bees hanging from tree limbs, fences, and other structures. While swarms are typically temporary, they often signal increased bee activity.
Summer (June–August)
Hive Establishment Season
Many spring swarms eventually settle inside walls, soffits, chimneys, and other structural voids. During the summer months, colonies rapidly expand, making bee activity more noticeable and increasing the need for professional live bee extraction and honeycomb removal.
Fall (September–November)
Late-Season Hive Discoveries
Bee activity begins to slow, but many homeowners discover established colonies while performing seasonal maintenance, decorating for holidays, or preparing their homes for cooler weather. Fall removals are important because colonies are actively protecting their honey stores for winter.
Winter (December–February)
Hidden Hive Season
Honey bees in Georgia do not hibernate. On warmer winter days, bees may still be seen entering and leaving chimneys, walls, or rooflines. Winter is also an ideal time to inspect your home for potential entry points and make repairs before spring swarm season arrives.
